lyrics

Lament with the retreating streetlights, ancestors of these blood red clouds. I hear those old foreboding words and this light concedes those contradicted memories—impressions of the winding roads. Their ebb and flow convene at tired red eyes, a road map of a life she never wanted. “Take warning boy, the worst is yet to…” There’s shelter if I stay, dear—it’s that or brave the storm again. What used to be a dream’s now a nightmare (her words, not mine). “Take warning boy, the worst is yet to come.” Now that the future is the present, what has it brought? Only an end to seeing ahead. She’ll stay inside and count her blessings.
